Release notes

What changed in this edition, what deliberately did not, and which exact bytes are serving. An analytical correction receives a new model identity — old evidence is never silently relabelled.

This edition

What it is
The completed 2025 season. Hardball Signal publishes finished seasons and never updates during one; the source itself publishes twice a year and never mid-season.
What it covers
Coverage loading…
What changed
PULSE’s league reference is frozen entirely before the target period, and the forward test it fails is published beside it. CROWN’s baserunning lane names its unallocated remainder rather than absorbing it. Season stolen-base and caught-stealing reconciliation against the official game logs is stated rather than smoothed. Full detail below.
What has not changed
Every historically pinned model identity. An analytical correction receives a new identity; old evidence is never silently relabelled, and the 2025 edition stays reproducible from the exact capture it was built from.
Current limitations
Fielding and catching are not measured. Pitching still contains team defence. No park, defence, opponent, positional or league adjustment is applied. Nothing here is validated against a WAR-class baseline, and no pitch-level data is ingested at all.

Editions

Every edition is immutable: an analytical correction receives a new identity and a new deployment, and superseded editions stay addressable at the deployment that served them. Cross-edition numeric comparison is valid only within one analytical generation.

v1.0 — immutable historical release

v1.0-hardball-signal remains fixed at 76b246f286082c3f6817c065e00e71a9b4e17b7c. The successor does not move that tag or rewrite its artifacts. Corrections are additive and versioned so historical claims remain auditable.
